What is Cyber Bullying?
Spreading rumors and gossip
Posting pictures of others without their consent
Using another person's password to hack account (impersonating the user)
Harassment or threatening words
What are the signs?
Stops using computer or cell phone
Appears nervous when reading email/texts/checking Facebook, etc.
Uneasy about school friends
Withdraw from family and friends
Steps to Dealing with Cyber Bullying
Tell students not to respond to the person. Do not even defend yourself or say something mean back.
SAVE
the message!
Block the person.
Set up new account and delete the old
Report the incident to Internet Provider, Authorities, or School Leaders
What do students need to know?
Don't share passwords.
Only post what you want to go on the front page of a newspaper.
